Smart systems mean the systems that collect data from their environment and use the knowledge they derive from the data to adjust their behaviors based on the requirements. The real challenge today is to maintain the security and privacy of these data. Inspite of cyber threat increasing, researchers also developing new algorithms and architectures to withstand against various attacks. But this is not an easy task because of the invention of new concepts like Internet of Things, Big Data, Data Science, block chain, mobile computing etc,. The main objective this Special issue is to identify and address the various issues related to security and privacy in smart system. Also to provide the solution to the different problem to meet the challenges occurs in real time. Topics of interest to this special issue include, but not limited to: Security and privacy in online networks; Security and privacy in fog/edge computing; Architecture Support for Privacy Computation; Performance optimization for Secure Data transmission; Intrusion detection for smart systems; Smart Data Analyze for smart systems for secure communication.
