Engineering: Cloud of Things for Digital Engineering

In this digital era, Cloud of Things has emerged as a revolutionary paradigm to promote a scalable digital transformation that enables smart connection between Internet of Things [IoT] devices and sensors to a cloud enabled infrastructure. This emerging paradigm enables the smart IoT devices to greatly utilize the substantial storage capacity and scalable high performance computing features of cloud architecture. Cloud of Things is emerging as a futuristic enabler of internet services by providing cloud based software to the users for develop a smart interconnected IoT applications. Cloud of Things [CoT] leverages cloud computing and IoT to promote an effective and collaborative smart platform to enhance energy management, economic growth and development. Recently, CoT is mainly utilized to create, deploy and manage user-centric applications for a smart environment. With these advantages Cloud of Things has successfully applied to various smart applications in Society 5.0, smart agriculture, smart healthcare, emergency provisions and disaster management, smart food processing, smart automotive and so on. Hence Cloud of Things enables the users to develop a smart, economical and effective predictive analytics infrastructure. Researchers are now gaining increasing interest on implementing innovative Cloud of Things [CoT] services in Industry 4.0. This special issue focuses on novel researches that provides innovative Cloud of Things services for various digital engineering applications.
