This collection will provide a platform for the publication of papers on all aspects of resilience and sustainability in engineering disciplines. The editorial policy is to maintain a reasonable balance between papers from researchers and from practicing/design engineers so that the content will be useful to both groups. Subject areas may include, but not limited to the following fields: International coverage of hazards mitigation, risk analysis, preparedness, management and recovery; Impact of safety, security and disaster management on resilience and sustainability; Reliability-oriented engineering to improve the resilience of the structures; System analysis methods, including life cycle assessment and management; Smart cities and resilient environments; Critical infrastructure protection, including security, privacy, forensics, and reliability issues of cyber-physical systems; Planning, design, and operations of transport infrastructure in disaster; Research related to the broad spectrum of earthquake and impact engineering including smart structures; Structural control and health monitoring of structures and infrastructure under severe loadings; Discussions of damaging natural and manmade hazards and their influence on new regulations and national policies; Lifelines and offshore structures under shock and vibrations; Performance-based and resilience-based design of structures and infrastructure; Road and rail design for resilient and safe transport. Review articles, short communications and discussions, book reviews, and a diary on international events related to any aspect of resilience engineering topics are suggested to be submitted as well.
