Abstract

There were several practical matters that required special consideration immediately as initial steps in considering the design of new construction. There was the Victorian mansion of Hilltop House and the extent to which it might be used, the siting of a new building on our new tract, the heating system, the water supply, the sewage treatment issue, the contours of the land, and the questions surrounding energy supply and uses, not to speak of the landscaping, the forest land (figure 3.1), and the interests of neighbors.
