Abstract
In this chapter we study some distributional properties of order statistics and record values based on Fα distributions. The Fα distributions have been widely studied in statistics since 1995 because of their wide applicability in the modeling and analysis of life time data. Many researchers and authors have developed various classes of Fα distributions. Below we first briefly describe the definitions and properties of Fα distributions and review some selected members of Fα family of distributions. Then the distributional properties of record values and order statistics from these distributions are presented. For details, the interested readers are referred to Shakil and Ahsanullah (2012), and references therein.
