Abstract

Catalytic enantioselective reactions employing α,β-unsaturated acyl azolium intermediate have attracted great attention and have been intensively explored in these years. A variety of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds have been developed for these reactions (Fig. 4.1). In this area, the α,β-unsaturated acyl azolium is usually generated from ynals, enals, α-bromoenals, α,β-unsaturated acyl fluorides and esters by (oxidative) N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalysis.
