Abstract

In this chapter, the concepts required to represent and analyse data and the techniques of exploratory data analysis will be developed within a teaching situation where students need to make sense of statistical concepts and procedures. After describing how these ideas are incorporated in high-school curricula, we present some teaching situations where students need to collect, summarise, and compare data sets to investigate and provide potential solutions to a research question.
