Abstract
In this chapter, I present vignettes from the lived experience of a young Burmese Chin refugee in Melbourne, Australia. The vignettes explore issues of exclusion and racism, of hope and hopelessness, and of the structure of opportunities available to a determined young man in the pursuit of his dream of going to university in his adopted homeland.
