Abstract
As we stated in the beginning of this book, there is a need at the beginning of any dialogue to establish a common language and a common background between participants. This chapter intends to fulfill that purpose by providing the terminology and theory on which the others chapters in this part of the book rest. It begins by taking a look at academic tasks in general and moves on to mathematical tasks in particular.
