Part of the book series: Fundamental Theories of Physics ((FTPH,volume 47))

Abstract

Motivation: The notion of Majorana representations of Clifford algebras as well as the notion of Majorana (bi-) spinors is extensively used in the supergravity theory [1] as well as in the superstring and unified theories [2]. Originally, the concept of Majorana representation was introduced by Ettore Majorana in the context of spinor representations of the Lorentz group before the second World War.
