Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of the use of resource selection probability functions for studying resource selection. Examples are presented to illustrate (a) the commonly occurring case where resources are considered to be in several categories, (b) the difference between census and sample data, and (c) the difference between studies that involve one period of selection time and studies that involve several periods of selection time. In addition, the assumptions that are required for the estimation of resource selection functions are discussed.
