Abstract

In Der logische Aufbau der Welt, Carnap’s purpose is to sketch a particularistic system much more coherent and comprehensive than any proposed before. Starting with the few positive findings of earlier particularistic thought, he avails himself of the methods and the model of symbolic logic in developing his constructions. If the resulting system remains rudimentary and inadequate in many respects, the advance it makes must still not be overlooked.
