Theoretical Investigation of the Transport Properties of Polymers and Organic Molecular Crystals

  • Conference paper
Book cover Quantum Theory of Polymers

Part of the book series: NATO Advanced Study Institutes Series ((ASIC,volume 39))

Abstract

The basic concepts involved in the calculation of various transport properties of polymers and condensed organic systems are outlined in some detail. Special attention is paid to the unique electronic properties of these solids which make it necessary in some cases to reconsider the conventional calculation methods of electron transport theory. Applications are presented to some biopolymers and charge transfer molecular crystals of the TCNQ type.
