Abstract
This is a short introductory chapter that explains the goals of the Volume. On one hand complete the presentation of General Relativity by analyzing two of its main fields of application, namely Black Holes and Cosmology. On the other hand goal of the Volume is to introduce the reader to the Theory of Gravitation beyond General Relativity, which is Supergravity.
