Abstract
This section provides a brief analysis of the impacts of deforestation and climate change on Indonesia, especially on indigenous peoples and the poor. It explains the national and sub-national experiences of deforestation & degradation, indigenous peoples and poverty, and explores the links of these experiences to climate change. From these, the questions of justice clearly emerge relating to the pillars of global action. A bottom-up focus is given to the adaptation actions of local people. The section enriches other studies that review deforestation and degradation from the top-down perspective of climate change, carbon emissions and globalization.
