Abstract
This chapter summarizes the most important events in the electronic voting history of Germany. It includes different types of electronic voting. The chapter contains a discussion of the judgment of the Federal Constitutional Court from March 2009 regarding the use of voting computers in the 2005 Bundestag election. It ends with consequences and open research questions of this judgment.
