Abstract

We briefly review some of the issues relevant to self-force research. We consider frequency-domain and time-domain approaches, adiabatic and post-adiabatic waveforms, the need for a revised regularization method for 2 + 1D numerical-simulations, the so-called m-mode regularization, and the need for second-order self-forces and their effect on the gravitational waveforms.
