Abstract

Cancers of the hypopharynx and cervical esophagus used to be studied and treated together, due to the anatomical proximity of the two structures and the frequent infiltration of both. Nowadays, they are considered two different disease entities, with different symptoms, patterns of diffusion, and survival rates.
