Lo studio delle vie urinarie e della vescica con tomografia computerizzata (TC) e risonanza magnetica (RM) consente di ottenere, attraverso la ricostruzione di immagini multiplanari e volumetriche del volume d’interesse, una rappresentazione anatomica differente rispetto a quella classica su piani assiali. I dati nativi elaborati con ricostruzioni bidimensionali (multi-planar reformation, MPR; curved planar reformation, CPR), tridimensionali (multi-projection volume reconstruction, MPVR; curved planar volume reconstruction, CPVR; maximum intensity projection, MIP; volume rendering, VR) e con endoscopia virtuale, forniscono informazioni utili e spesso indispensabili nella valutazione dell’albero urinario e della vescica.
