Abstract
Suturing in endoscopic surgery is greatly influenced by the set-up of the forceps. For the so-called “TANKO procedure” which comes from the concept of reduced port laparoscopic surgery (RPLS), the distance from forceps to the other is very small and the angle of the forceps becomes very narrow. In order to suture in this situation, two ways of manipulation are necessary. One is the technique to manipulate the tip of the needle holder that controls suture materials and the other is the technique to control the hands of the operator who controls the needle holder. To control the hands is a technique common in RPLS, so in this chapter, the selection of a proper user-friendly needle holder (even when the distance between forceps is small) and suturing technique will be explained.
