Zusammenfassung
Die Transformation der vietnamesischen Wirtschaft seit dem Beginn des Doi Moiin den 1980er Jahren hat auch eine Reform des Finanzmarktes notwendig gemacht. Es galt, den steigenden Kapitalbedarf heimischer und in späterer Folge auch internationaler Unternehmen zu stillen und die Kapitalakkumulation auch durch eine Mobilisierung der Spareinlagen der Bevölkerung voranzutreiben. Die Reformen am Finanzmarkt, wobei darunter in erster Linie die Entwicklung des Bankensektors verstanden wird, haben später eingesetzt als die Liberalisierungen im Bereich des Handels.
