Das Ziel dieses Kapitels besteht in der Vermittlung elementarer Kenntnisse im Arbeiten mit dem Programmpaket IBM SPSS Statistics 20, das im Kontext aller weiteren Betrachtungen der Einfachheit halber kurz nur mit SPSS bezeichnet wird. Die Abbreviaturen IBM und SPSS stehen für „International Business Machines Corporation“ und „Statistical Package for Social Sciences“. Die vorliegende Version 20 des Moduls „Statistics“ ist ein umfassendes und leistungsfähiges Programmpaket zur Analyse, Modellierung und Vorhersage statistischer Daten.
