Abstract

From the viewpoint of logic there are two types of knowledge about a specific domain. One is given knowledge, the axiom system, and the other consists of the logical conclusions from the axioms. The logical conclusions are propositions deduced from the axioms by using inference rules, which are independent of the domain. Therefore, the question whether a given proposition is a logical conclusion only depends on the axioms.
