Zusammenfassung
Die berufliche Entwicklung wird durch sog. Entwicklungsaufgaben veranlasst und strukturiert. Jede Phase der beruflichen Entwicklung ist durch spezifische Entwicklungsaufgaben gekennzeichnet. Man kann dabei folgende Phasen unterscheiden: Wachstums-, Explorations-, Etablierungs-, Erhaltungs- und Rückzugsphase. Trotz der Globalisierung der Weltwirtschaft, neuer Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien sowie veränderten Managementkonzepten sind die Beschäftigungsverhältnisse in westlichen Industriegesellschaften aber relativ stabil geblieben. Das schrumpfende Arbeitskräfteangebot, die immer älteren Arbeitsanbieter und die erhöhten Qualifikationsanforderungen bis zum Jahr 2050 in Deutschland verlangen nach einer Erhöhung der Erwerbstätigenquoten von Frauen und Älteren sowie nach einer effektiveren und verstärkten Bildung und Weiterbildung von Älteren, Personen mit niedrigem Bildungsabschluss und niedrigem sozialem Status.
