Die Entscheidung der Bundesregierung unter Führung von Angela Merkel vom September 2015, die Anwendung der Regeln des Dublin-Systems auszusetzen und Flüchtlingen an den Grenzen der Europäischen Union eine Weiterreise nach Deutschland zu ermöglichen, war eine politische Zäsur. Sie wird mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit auch im historischen Rückblick so eingeordnet werden.
