Abstract
BPs and ISs mutually impact each other in non-trivial ways, which are discussed in this chapter. Section 7.1 gives an overview of related work. Then, three types of mutual performance impact between BPs and ISs are distinguished.
Parts of the discussion of the mutual impact were published in an early form in: Heinrich, R., Henss, J., Paech, B. Extending Palladio by Business Process Simulation Concepts, In: Becker, S. et al. (eds.), Palladio Days 2012 Proceedings, Karlsruhe Reports in Informatics 2012,21, ISSN 2190-4782, pp. 19–27, KIT, 2012. and Heinrich, R., Paech, B. On the Prediction of the Mutual Impact of Business Processes and Enterprise Information Systems, In: Kowalewski, S., Rumpe, B. (eds.), Software Engineering 2013, LNI-Vol. P-213, pp. 157–170, GI, 2013.
