Zusammenfassung

Ethik beschäftigt sich zentral mit der Bewertung menschlichen Handelns. Das Konzept der Verantwortung dient dazu Handlungen und Handlungseffekte Personen zuzuordnen. Hierbei lässt sich zwischen prospektiver und retrospektiver Verantwortung unterscheiden (Werner 2002). Während der prospektive Aspekt Verbindlichkeiten oder Verpflichtungen erzeugt, soll die retrospektive Verantwortung Zurechenbarkeit erzeugen. Auf dieser Grundlage ist dann Lob und Tadel der handelnden Person möglich. Lob und Tadel sind hierbei nicht harmlos zu verstehen. An ihnen hängen Konsequenzen, die von Preisen und Auszeichnungen bis zur Verhängung der Todesstrafe reichen können.
