Abstract

Although cough or change in the character of cough is often the first symptom or sign of bronchogenic carcinoma, lung cancer may present in a wide variety of manifestations. An organized approach is necessary for the diagnosis of lung cancer and evaluation of disease extent which is necessary in deciding therapeutic extent. The diagnostic process begins with the posterior-anterior (PA) chest film, and cytological exam of sputum.
