Abstract
The spatial and temporal variations of precipitation in China have to be considered under two major aspects: (1) the effects of seasonally alternating air masses of either a dry continental or moist oceanic origin (cf. Chap. 3); (2) the impact upon precipitation from the large extent over space and the extremely contrasting landforms. Both aspects have to be verified with particular reference to exact observation data; however, there is a lack of available data from remote areas.
