Zusammenfassung
Die Abwicklung von Transaktionen in britischen Aktien war lange Zeit das Monopol der London Stock Exchange. Das von der Börse eingesetzte Stock Exchange Automated Quotation System SEAQ basierte dabei auf einem halbautomatisierten Market-Maker-Handel. Mit dem Markteintritt von Tradepoint Financial Networks als Anbieter eines vollelektronischen Auktionshandelssystems für britische Aktien enstand für die Londoner Börse 1995 ein Wettbewerb urn Investoren und Auftragsausfiihrung im Sekundärmarkt. Obwohl die Londoner Börse 1997 das in den 80er Jahren eingeführte SEAQ-System erneuert hat, bleibt die Fragestellung, welche Hande1ssystemarchitektur für Investoren die beste Alternative darstellt [Schie95].
