Abstract

We investigate the dynamics of accelerating neutral atoms with linearly or circularly intense laser pulses. Our classical-trajectory ensemble simulations involve all nuclear and electronic dynamics including tunneling ionization and scattering of electrons in the combined Coulomb and electromagnetic fields for both helium (He) and magnesium (Mg).
