Abstract

Tumors arising from the ciliary epithelium are quite uncommon. The extremely low prevalence of these tumors often causes them to be mistaken for other more common iridociliary tumors such as melanoma or uveal metastases. The location of these rare lesions growing behind the iris, the complexity in differentiating between benign and malignant tumors, their histologically remarkable cellular polymorphism, and the possibility of dealing with either a congenital or acquired tumor make their diagnosis difficult [1].
