Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of cervical cancer screening by cervical vaginal cytology including pathogenesis of cervical cancer, the role of HPV testing, methods for obtaining the cytology sample and a review of the latest guidelines for screening. The chapter also reviews cytology of the endometrium, the adnexa and the use of pelvic washing.
