Abstract

Sound 1 dizi_without_with_membrane.wav Two dizi tones of same pitch, the first without, the second with membrane attached (section Mirliton).

Sound 2 Trumpet_1.wav The beginning of a trumpet sound built by the impulse pattern formulation using a 600 Hz periodicity and a smooth Gauss impulse. The ’spitting’ in the beginning is caused by the complex impulse pattern.

Sound 3 Trumpet_2.wav Like Sound 2 using the same impulse pattern but a sharper Gauss impulse resulting in a brighter sound.

Sound 4 Trumpet_3.wav Like Sound 2 using the same impulse pattern but a lower pitch of 400 Hz periodicity.

Sound 5 Trombone_1.wav Trombone sound of 200 Hz periodicity built by the impulse pattern formulation of a smooth attack.

Sound 6 Trombone_1.wav Same as Sound 6 but with a more complex impulse pattern resulting in a more prominent starting impulse.

Sound 7 Violin_1.wav Violin sound produced by the impulse pattern formulation using a ’perfect’ sawtooth motion as waveform and a periodicity of 500 Hz. The impulse pattern used is the same as for the first trumpet sound. Here it is not resulting in a ’spitting’ but in the typical violin scratching sound.

Sound 8 Violin_2.wav Same as Sound 7 using a 600 Hz periodicity and a different impulse pattern.

Sound 9 Violin_3.wav Same as Sound 7 using a 1000 Hz periodicity and again a different impulse pattern.
