Abstract

Market communication is a core activity within the energy sector as it integrates the business view (cash flow) with the technical view (power and gas flow) of the energy sector. To ensure an efficient operation of the energy supply chain from generation to its use at the customer side, standards regarding market operation are essential. Within this chapter the need for standards regarding market communication is motivated and an overview on current market communication standards is provided. Finally, a short overview and summary on the introduced standards is presented.
