Abstract
To provide an additional view of some of the issues that were dealt with in my reports to the United Nations as Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, I include in this volume extracts of my second and seventh (last) annual reports to the Human Rights Council, dealing, respectively, with the impact on indigenous human rights of large development projects, such as dams, and with so-called ‘best practices’ carried out governments and other agencies under different circumstances, to implement some of the recommendations that I made during my 7 years as Special Rapporteur.
This text was circulated by the UN as document E/CN.4/2003/90 and is in the public domain.
