Abstract
This Chapter describes approaches for estimating growth and yield of tropical forests based on climatic data, which are available now for most of countries in form of a time series, a subject of very high interest for the tropics in the light of most of species lacking annual rings. Methods proposed by Patterson and Weck and further contributions by Nilsson are described. A study on growth and yield of Teak, based on climate data supplemented with available yield table sample plot information, is presented to illustrate how the method can be applied in practice as also the benefits of South-South cooperation in this important area.
