Abstract
In this paper, we present a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) application for helping Visually Impaired People (VIP) identify objects in their day-to-day interaction with the environment. The application uses the LayarTM Augmented Reality (AR) API to build a working prototype for identifying grocery items. The initial results of using the application show positive acceptance from the VIP community.
