Abstract
Plants are wrongly considered to be second-class, simple organisms, unable to attract our attention and curiosity. This anthropocentric attitude, which is also called plant blindness, unjustly condemns plants to this status. Yet, if we use biological criteria of complexity, especially when we turn to modern molecular biology, plants seem to be at least as complex as other organisms. In essence, they are as complex as their lifestyle and pace of life dictate.
