Abstract
Clinical decision-making is referred to as a social process in which the dentist, the patient, and the other bodies like the insurer each has a role to play. The practice of traditional medicine is deeply rooted in the cultural heritage and constitutes an integral part of the culture of the people of any country. Different forms of traditional medicines have been used as an essential means of treatment of diseases and management of various health problems. This chapter introduces the medical tradition of Persia from the viewpoint of evidence-based health care in general and its implication to dentistry in particular.
