Abstract

The concept of femoroacetabular impingement has been popularized by Ganz et al. as mechanical cause of hip pain and the development of osteoarthritis in the hip [1]. Contact resulting from the loss of anterior offset at the femoral head–neck junction has been termed “cam impingement,” and contact due to increased coverage of the anterior aspect of the acetabulum has been termed “pincer impingement.”
