Abstract
This chapter presents a broad view of space and space–time processes. Our dissertation starts with the concept of space and time from the philosophical viewpoint. Then, we relate the concept of space–time with the current practice in Geostatistics and the use of the latter as an effective framework for natural and social sciences. The rest of the chapter gives a methodological assessment of space–time geostatistics through the framework of space–time random functions, covariances and variograms.
