Part of the book series: Studies in Computational Intelligence ((SCI,volume 309))

Abstract

This publication presents key problems of cognitive information systems. Cognitive data analysis systems will first be classified, then their genesis and development will be presented, and then their two main classes will be discussed: UBIAS (Understanding Based Image Analysis Systems) and UBMSS (Understanding Based Management Support Systems). The image analysis class is used to analyse the medical significance of lesions of various human organs. UBMSS systems provide automatic support for the strategic and financial decision-making process in enterprises. Due to the subject discussed here, UBMSS systems will be presented as assets supporting the management of medical units.
