Abstract
Although Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) frequently presents in the reproductive years, occurrence concomitant with pregnancy is rare and represents a challenge for treating physicians. The best management requires a multidisciplinary approach combining expertise in medical oncology, high-risk obstetrics, and neonatology ideally coordinated to optimize the mother’s chance of cure and yet allow delivery of a healthy child. A pregnant patient with HL should be staged with minimal use of imaging requiring ionizing radiation and treated in an individualized manner optimally combining the strategies of treatment deferral when appropriate, single-agent vinblastine, and reservation of multiagent chemotherapy for the small minority of patients with aggressive clinical presentation.
