Abstract
Open reduction and internal fixation has become well accepted for the treatment of scaphoid fractures. In this chapter, we highlight the technique of wrist arthroscopy combined with percutaneous screw fixation of the scaphoid. Important factors in favor of this approach are direct arthroscopic visualization of fracture reduction and the ability to check and avoid intraarticular screw exposure. Each technical step is illustrated in detail, and the important treatment principles are emphasized. This combined approach has become a valuable tool in the arsenal of treatment options for posttraumatic wrist pathology, especially in a scaphoid fracture.
