Zusammenfassung

Eine Krebserkrankung kann dann entstehen, wenn sich körpereigene Zellen vermehren und sich dadurch im Gewebe oder in den Organen eine Geschwulst bildet. Zunächst kann diese Geschwulst sowohl gut- als auch bösartig sein. Bei gutartigen Tumoren dringt die Geschwulst nicht in benachbartes Gewebe ein, um Metastasen zu bilden. Wenn sich jedoch ein bösartiger Tumor bildet, spricht man umgangssprachlich von Krebs. Dieser verdrängt gesundes Gewebe im Körper und kann sich über Blutgefäße und das Lymphsystem verbreiten, so dass sich dann Tochtergeschwülste, sogenannte Metastasen, bilden.
