Zusammenfassung

Manipulationen an Atemwegen und pulmonaler Gasaustauschfläche können über verschiedene Wege zu respiratorischem Versagen führen. Zusätzlich kann die Sedierung unter bestimmten Voraussetzungen den Atemantrieb bedrohlich verringern. Stress und Hypoxämie sind potenzielle Auslöser lebensbedrohlicher kardiozirkulatorischer Zwischenfälle.
