Abstract

Carefull assessment of local extension is necessary Open neck approaches are still indicated to treat pharyngeal and laryngeal cancers with good oncologic and functional results Large resection of the larynx is associated with an increase risk of aspiration post-op rehabilitation and speech therapy are necessary to improve functional results
