Abstract

The learning of cardiovascular English is one of the most demanding of all medical English by specialty. The multiplicity of cardiological subspecialties makes it extremely difficult to be familiar with the jargon of each subspecialty: A clinical cardiologist would be completely lost in a talk on arrhythmia ablation (arrhythmia itself is one of the most frequently misspelled medical words), and a sonographer might not know the name of most interventional cardiology devices.
