Abstract
As electronics and detectors are in many cases both built on silicon using similar technology, it seems natural to try to integrate them on a single wafer. This, however, brings about some problems, which will be described in this chapter, together with solutions in Sect. 8.2. In the first section of the chapter we will consider the more conservative approach of connecting separately processed detectors with their auxiliary electronics.
